Hello,
There are several dual-use PC monitor cum tv, like Samsung T27A950 LED (expensive).
Why can't I simply use a good 26" LED Full HD TV for this purpose? Can any one please explain, I'm confused (lag time, refresh speed, etc)? Tx, Ami

Here are a few things:

TVs have over-scan to insure the screen is filed edge to edge, but this causes your desktop to run off the sides, so to correct that you end up with strange resolution settings like 1904x1072.

TVs by default alter the video before it is displayed. this is fine for a movie, but with computer apps this can produce artifacts. You should turn off all the video processing for he computer, but then you lose those enhancements for movies.

TVs often report themselves as using a native color space of YCbCr instead of RGB, but the conversion between the two is lossy can can effect colors.

Hi
Please can you enlighten further. Should I buy a led TV and use it as a monitor , or should I buy a LED monitor and use it as a TV. Which will give me the best of both.
