Hello, how can i find out if documents on my machine were shared without my knowledge?

You cannot unless they have been altered...

A GOOD FIREWALL might be a good idea though...

Do you mean shared by your PC, or accessed by others? If you mean accessed - unless you have configured object access auditing, then no not really.
