So i have a p4 3.0E 478 on an abit ic7 max3, now i am aware this is a hot chip and a fairly hot board, but my idle temps are around 60-65 and if im encoding video it can get as sick as 80C I know the prescott runs a lil hot but that seems crazy to me. I have the voltage set to 1.3875 cause thats what i read, some reason after i cleared my bios it tried to run my processor at 1.2875 and that makes my abit eq go psycho. I have 4 case fans and its still this high, so ive decided if i ever want to oc this thing im gonna need liquid, any opinions on what the best kit is, i dont wanna spend too much more than 200 canadian, i also need ot know how to disable PAT. thanks for any help.
Water is not my thing, fish f__k in it you know.

Ironically, that kit is 169 which is almost 200 canuck bucks. It’s a pretty good deal. The maze 4 is a pretty good block, but make no mistake it’s not top of the line. However, the difference between top of the line and the maze 4 is about 3 degrees Celsius. See pro cooling for interactive waterblock results
I used the P4 custom kit and got US$189.64 (dunno how much shipping will cost)
-TDX with Lucite clear top (1/2" )
-BlackIce Extreme (Black/Blue) I got the black one myself
-Sunon 120mm (same one as I've got)
-Eheim 1048
-7feet ClearFlex
You have to find your own resv.

I read the first paragraph and stopped - I can't stand your writing style.
Odd that you hate the article but yet you refer people to it?? Oh well... everything you need to know about water cooling is in that thread. But if you are looking for some personal oppinions I know that mozzartusm uses watercooling and seems to know alot about it... so send him a PM.

My opinion matters not, you said yourself all the information he needs is there

I think one of those big brass hookas would make a nice reservoir
Is there a link to it?
I'm looking at the Clear Cylindrical right now, but that'll add another $25.
Better to go to some cheap plastic shop and buy a rectangular translucent lunchbox and use it as a resv. which would fit in it the case.

How did get the tubing to glow blue not purple-ish?

My setup should be pretty sweet then.

If you really want to save some money on water cooling then make a system yourself. Its really not that difficult, and I will be happy to guide you through it. You will need to find a good waterblock, other than that you can get the rest of the equipment at a good pet store. Any aquarium pump with a flow adjustment will be cheaper and better than the one you will get with the average water cooling system. If your interested in building one yourself, PM me and I will give you a parts list. I can tell you that other than the Waterblock, the rest of the parts cost around $45.00 - $60.00 US currency. There are many advanteges to building one. The one that stands out to me is the fact that you can cool multiple systems with one pump. I went a little overboard on my latest rig and also purchased a Whirlpool Countertop water chiller. It has a 6 gallon capacity "Hows that for a resivoir" and also cools the water. This means that the water gets cooled through the raidatior and then the water chiller. You can do away with the Radiator and fan altogether if you use a Water chiller, but I use both. My temps are really low, they have dropped under 20C. This cost me an extra $69.00. The original system that I bought was the Thermaltake Bigwater liquid cooling system. It was around $159.00 including shipping, however I saw the same system for $170.00 on the same website "Newegg" today.
If you want to see some impressive photos of a water cooling rig, look at Folkens link.
I thought Maze4 was designed for CPU only?
The one I'm looking at for myself(when I do have the moeny) is Silverprop Fusion HL.

It sure looks radically different from the Maze4 CPU waterblock.
I've looked at all the VGA waterblocks on that website and the best one they've got is Maze4.
It's better than the PanaFLOs.

I've seen too many corroded systems when aluminum is mixed with copper, even when it’s anodized and corrosion inhibitors are added. They sell them so I’m sure some people have used them successfully. Just something to think about.
