TECH:The black rose , Sound Board issues

I have a BR in the shop for repair with sound board problems. pre-DCS
A-12738

Rom U18 was missing and have no manual for this game , CFTBL uses the same
board and shows 27C040 in this location
Programmed 27C040 with u18 file ( 128K ) so 4meg eprom appears a bit big but
going on the information I have this is what it should be ???

With Rom removed I get 3 bongs indicating U18 fault , with Rom fitted no
bongs at all and no sound or speak .
Amp is working fine .

Can anyone suggest likely problem ? Correct eprom size for u18 ?and does
anyone have or know where I can download a fresh copy of the sound image
files for this game , not in any of the normal locations?

U18 on black rose should be a 27c010, not a 27c040

Depending on how the sound board accesses the chip, that might work, or
it might not.

Thanks for that John ,
I did try a 27C1000 but it come up with the 3 bongs , It's either possible
the 27C1000 is not compatible or I have a corrupt image .
knowing the correct size is a good start though .
So I am back to looking for the sound rom images if anyone can help it would
be greatly appreciated.

Should have mentioned , It's Jomac from Western Australia , we have spoken
before John .
