Hello,

I have been given a hard drive with Win 7 Home Premium on.

How do I tell what bit version (32 or 64) is on it, JUST BY LOOKING AT THE FILES on the drive?

I can only plug it into a laptop via a sata to usb adapter.

Thanks in advance,

Fretful

Check whether it has duplicate "Program Files" folders, one which is appended "(x86)" If there is such a second Program Files folder it's 64 bit

Hello SchizTech - thank you for your reply. Yes there is a second "Program Files" folder appended "(x86)". So does this definitely mean it is a 64 bit OS and are there any other pointers I could use?
