Hi Folks, I have been given a PC to check out - It now doesnt work but has been working fine for 12 months or so. The computer powers up but thats it. No apparent boot, no video signal, no beeps. I have tried removing video, ram and disconnecting CDROM,HDD and reseting but result is the same. Power supply is OK as have tested in another machine. CPU fan works and HDD,CDROM power up. Reset and Power switches work. The green LED on the mainboard still lights - does this mean that the mainboard is OK but CPU has failed or could it still be the mainboard? I dont have enough spare components to cross check.

Athlon XP 2600+, Asus A7V600-X, 512Mb DDR400

Thanks in advance

No luck in resetting the CMOS (jumper CLRTC), I get the feeling its the mainboard even though it has never been mucked around with. The only card being used on the system is an AGP graphics card...
