Monitor suggestions at 3 price ranges

I am interested in recommendation for monitors at certain price ranges that would be good for design work, such as photoshop and rendering. The price points are under 500, 700, and 1000.
Unfortunately, I know nothing about monitors. I am hoping for it to be at least 22inches, but preferably 24+, and preferably 120hz, although this is not required.

Side question - I may want to go for the dual display route - in this case, should both monitors be the same size/model?

Need some help here :)  Any suggestions are welcomed so that I can get the ball rolling on my own research.

Are there really no standout monitors in these price ranges?

At $670 you can get the 27" hp zr2740w. Because of that I'd have a hard time recommending the $1000 price point for anything under 30"

At $400 you might try the viewsonic 27" vg2732, but it's lower res than the u2711 or zr2740w.

Another good choice is the hp zr24w at $400

You can also find the u2410 for just under $500. It's probably the best monitor for you, but it's a little over priced when it's not on sale.

BTW you won't find a good photoshop monitor with 120hz, those things are currently mutually exclusive.
