every time i boot up i need to have the win xp cd in the cd drive. is there a way to turn this feature off?
ive looked in cmos, but it still seems to wanna boot from cd.
is there any way to stop this from happening, or to get it to boot from a floppy disk? as i dont use my floppy drive, but its annoying to have to keep putting the cd in all the time.
also, if its possible to boot from floppy instead of cd (if u cant turn it off altogether) - how do i make a boot disk? ive looked in control pannle etc... but everything is different to 98se :S
i looked in bios, and it was already set as floppy>hd1>cd
ive tried various orders, even taking the cd out of the boot order, and it just sits there saying 'invalid sys disk'
any ideas how to turn off the booting from cd, or if not that, how to make a win xp boot disk (floppy), so that i dont have to keep switching cds all the time.
Even if the CD is first in the boot order, there is no way that you should be required to have the CD in the drive in order to boot the system... unless your system files on the hard drive have been hosed.
