Which would be better AMD Sempron 2600+ or AMD AthlonXP 2500+(Barton)?

There are 2 versions of sempron, one is just a renamed barton core CPU and the other is a Athlon64 with 64bit disabled and half the cache.

The Sempron 3000+ has a Barton core with 512 cache.
The 3100+ is A64 with half the cache and no 64 bit with the Paris core
All the other Semprons have the Thoroughbred B core with 256 cache.
If you can get a 2500+ (Barton, get a mobile one) it will be faster and have a better overclock than the Sempron 2600+. They both have the same clockspeed (1,83 GHz).

Tweebel is right on the money. The xp2500 is better than the sempron 2600. The xp-m2500 is a little slower than the xp2500, but runs cooler, and OCs better. If you dont OC or UC, the xp2500 is the best of the 3. If you OC, or UC the xp-m2500 is for you. If you can get a deal on the sempron, it's not a bad chip, just not as good as the other 2.
