I never purchased an OEM CPU. This is the first time and I am searching for a heatsink and fan for an ATHLON XP 2900+ which is going on top of a Chaintech 7NJL6 Socket A motherboard.
Can you guys recomend a good heatsink?...not necesarily the most expensive ones. I am not going to OC.
Never heard of a 2900+. But for socket A most $ 10,- heatsink/fan combinations will do all right especially if you don't overclock. Coolermaster has nice ones with 80 mm fans.
I've never heard of an xp2900+ either. Are you sure it's real?
A good fan, for mild OCing, that's not too loud is the vantec aeroflow. If you want to OC a bit more, or quieter, the zalmans are nice. If you want to do some serious OCing, listen to wusy.
That's a Nigerian CPU. They are re-marked Durons! DON'T TOUCH ONE! Read about them <A HREF="http://www.419eater.com/html/joe_eboh.htm" target="_new">here.</A>

WOW...now U guys are making me think twice before I buy this bundle...
Athlon XP 2900 that actually is a Duron?...Well...I guess U guys know more than many ppl and I trust your judgement. One can never be carefull enough buying online. Going for plan B.
Plan B is a Celeron D335 2.8 GHZ CPU coupled to a Chaintech MPM800-3VIA Socket 478 Micro ATX mobo.
This computer is for my mom who only uses computers to check her e mails and store
Yes...I thought about Athlon 64 bit ( I have a computer with that CPU) but it will be a waste of a computer because is for my mom and she really uses the computer for super light work.
The Celeron is almost half the price. And the mobo is also about half the price.Perfect for mom...lol
At first I was thinking - What the hel1 does his Holishite and eBonah have to do with that threa. After a figured out that there wasn't gonna be anything about the 2900+ I kept on reading anyways. Funny as hell! Had to love the pics!

A friend E-mailed that to me. I get hit with scammers all the time on E-Bay. Here is one example of an idiot wanting to overpay me for a $10.00 heatsink/fan:

Ooooops! I just saw an add for a Compaq that is running an XP-2900+ @ 2ghz. I have no idea what form factor or what chip this is but it must be an OEM.
