how much time to burn video onto dvd?

Hi -

My specs:

XPS 1645
CORE I7 - 720
8 GIG RAM
256 SSD DRIVE

last night i burned 55 minutes of digital home video, not hd, on to a recordable dvd that has 4.7 gig capacity. was a blank. How long should this task take? I tried this task using two different programs just to compare: wimdows 7 burn disc option (took 1:25 minutes to encode and burn..then it asked if i wanted to burn copies which only took 15 minutes), and i used Roxio as well (took about 45 minutes). Am i making a mistake or does this sound legit? Also, i'll add that the 55 minutes compromised of 11 separate videos.

Thanks..gw
