It was a pretty interesting read on the site about the Minimac. To me, the low power consumption and small size makes it appealing. I'm not a fan of Mac OS, so I'd rather stick with Windows and Linux. Does anybody know how much power those Via Epia setups consume? How about a desktop system using a Mobile Athlon? Thanks.

Many people use mobile Athlons for extreme overclocking, normally the output is about 40 watts. I think the VIA (if it is the VIA I know) comes in at about 10 watts but it is really slow. If you would downclock a modern AMD cpu to VIA speeds it would consume about the same I think, and perform better.

By reference, how much power does a regular Athlon draw? Also, I really plan on using this thing for regular daily tasks...no games or anything. I do open up a lot of windows though....are the Epias that slow? I think it would be really interesting if the site did a review on an Epia setup vs. a Macmini.
