2 x 24" or 1 x 30" 120hz Gaming monitor

I'm in the process of doing a new build and these are the specs I have so far.

ASRock Z68 OR MSI Z68A-GD80
CORSAIR Professional Series HX850
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 570 HD
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB 1600
Rosewill THOR V2

As of now I use two 24" monitors.
Dell ST2410 1920x1080
Dell 2405FPW 1920x1200 (OLD and heats a lot)

Now I do enjoy a lot the two screens since I have a spread sheet opened on one and the web on the other but when it comes to gaming. I just turn off one screen and play so that's why I was thinking of a 30" or would someone recommend 2 x 27" or even 3 x something smaller? My main build is for gaming and work (word/excel) so I want to get a 120hz ish.

Any advise would be appreciated.

More about 120hz gaming monitor
  1. Also when I am looking for a screen, I know I should look for 120hz but does the ms matter a lot? Do I need 2ms?

A lot of good reviews for the Acer HN274 is two of these good then one big 30"?
  2. No 30" panel I know of is either 120hz or under 7ms. The only real reason for 120hz is to do 3d. If you're not doing that, you'd probably be better off saving some money.
  3. Got an interesting idea and please let me know what you think.....

The more and more I think about it I would rather not do a 3 screen Eyefinity and just settle for two screens. One screen for gaming and one for web browsing/working.

Is it worth to get one screen with 3D to play the games and then another screen like an IPS to do work/web browsing? Also if I dont like 3D gaming would the screen work WELL in 2D like I would by a regular monitor?

    For example......
