DELL INSPIRON 1525 HELP

I have a problem with my dell inspiron 1525. I turned it on just now and it gets to the log on page fine. But then when i put in my password it did say something about the media not working. But now, after a few tries it just says that my password is wrong even though it isnt and it restarts after a couple of mintues. does anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong and how to hep me?
