My lap top make buzzins sound off & on,& freezesup

Hello, I have a HP Presario CQ 60, the noise just started along with freezing up. I had the fan replaced a mt. ago, it just started today. It sounds like a deep hum almost a buzz that last 4sec. and stops then restarts, stops etc.
I new to computers & I'm truly confused. Do I Ignore it?

Run a hard drive test in DOS...HIRENS CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive...

Hi Brett, long story short I set my laptop on a basket so i get air underneath & my sound on my phone was off so I was tripping on the vibration of the phone, thinking it was from my laptop. Don't laugh to long at me like I did (@ least 1/2 hr), THANK YOU for your help but sometime stupidity can't be helped no matter how hard you try. Thanks again
