What does it mean when it says missing driver

Hello,
I am trying to download pictures from my cannon camera, but it says my camera doesnt have the driver needed. How can I download my pictures?

Almost any device you can attach to a PC requires a driver. Usually, it's a small piece of software that the device uses to communicate with the operating system (Windows). Do a Google search for your camera model number and go to the Cannon website and download the driver and install it. Pretty simple. BTW, every camera I've seen comes with a driver disk when you buy it.

or if there isn't a driver, get a card reader.
