What's the best IPS monitor for ~$350?

Forum Computer Peripherals : Flat Panel Monitors What's the best IPS monitor for ~$350?

The title pretty much says it all. I watch a ton of movies/tv shows on my computer and play BF3. I know IPS isn't the BEST for gaming but I care more about the picture quality than having a slightly higher amount of ghosting. I want something good for my eyes since I spend so much time looking at my current old monitor. Obviously though, I would want the least amount of lag/ghosting as possible though but it needs to be IPS for the wider viewing angles and better picture.

I've been looking at the Dell 2412M monitor: Dell Product site link

So what do you think? Do you have one of these monitors and can recommend it from experience? Or something better? Thanks.

I'd vote for the u2412m. It's really the only one at that price.

I wouldn't be averse to spending less though... That's pretty much just my maximum budget.

Nice system btw

Pretty much anything in that price range is going to be e-ips. You could get a little cheaper going 23" with a u2312hm, or an LG panel (they make a lot of 23" ips panels for some reason.)

Dell is a good brand, the only reason you might try something else is if you don't like their AR coating, or if you need HDMI (the e-ips Dells only have DVI).

I agree with MagicPants.

I have had my eye on the u2412m for awhile myself. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because I game often and still wasn't positive that I should go with an IPS panel over a TN.

But I can't find anything else comparable. 24", 16:10 ratio (1920x1200), good response time for a IPS, LED back lit.

So no other good options?

I bought the U2412M. I read a bunch of reviews and Tomshardware gave it a favorable review and said "tom's hardware approved" which is good enough for me. I hope it doesn't disappoint...
