8gb sd drive io error

my 8gb sd drive has been working fine for a year. However, last month I tried to transfer some files from my lappie to the sd drive, it took me forever to transfer and in the end it was unsuccessful and some more I can't read my sd card anymore! It pop-up the window saying I/O error. What can I do? Can someone help me??? Thanks.

Assuming you don't have any important data on the SD card I would go ahead and reformat the SD card. Then do some large copy paste and see how its running.

Use the official SD formatter from the SD association.
