I use a Zire71 with my Mac iBook G3 (OS X 10.3.5). I haven't changed
anything on the Zire's hot sync "stuff", nor on the Mac's OS lately. I
successfully hot synced last week and tried to do so again today.
The iSync part (I just use iSync for my contacts) works fine, as do the
backup and several third-party conduits, apparently. However, I get
alert dialog boxes for To Do, Memo Pad and Date Book. For the To Do and
Memo Pad, the dialog box repeats twice each time I try to sync, each
time saying "Conduit Manager Volume is locked", and nothing syncs. For
Date Book, I get that same dialog box once, followed by a second box
that says "Conduit Manager File is busy", and again nothing is synced.
The only option is to click "OK".
I can't figure this out; anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I have never experienced that problem but on various other issues with
the Palm and HotSyncing I have solved it by soft resetting the Palm
and/or rebooting the computer (OS 9) or Relaunching the Finder (OS X)
via command-option-escape.

Also try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable from the Mac.

Thanks, Greg! I'd rebooted the computer, but I hadn't done a soft reset
yet, and that seems to have done the trick. I really appreciate the
hint -- don't know why I didn't think of it myself. Thanks again!

Thanks, Guy! I don't know whether that helped or not, since I'd been
able to do a partial hot sync before, but I did it anyway, and things
are now back to normal. Whew! Thanks again.
