Laser dpi

What is the highest color laser DPI currently available i know the first number goes to 9600 but is there a printer that has 9600 x greater than 600 DPI. I'm looking to print out replacement cover art for console games that are missing it I'm a collector of old console games and they don't always have the cover art when i buy them and maybe photo's. I loath inkjet printers I currently use a brother hl2040 and am looking to go color.

Old console game cover art is not likely to have been printed out at higher than 300 DPI, so any laser printer should suffice. However, the photo quality on a good laser printer is still poor compared to an average inkjet printer.
