After almost a year of flawless operation and some 50 DVD's later my
Phillips DVD+RW-D28 has started acting erratically. My last 4
attempts at burning a DVD have produced 4 'coasters'. And these are
the first 4 I have ever had a problem with. Trying to burn a data DVD
(twice) and a movie DVD (twice) I've started getting an error at the
end of the burn stating the DVD drive is no longer accessible. This
has occurred in both Nero Burning ROM and Ulead's Movie Factory 3.
Device manager states the drive is working correctly and Norton's
SystemWorks also can find no problems with WinXP. Does anyone know
why this might be happening ? Thanks!

Mike

The burner might be bad or the media you are using.
