I'm wanting to build one of those really small cube shaped PCs for my mom. Like this:

or this:
http://images10.newegg.com/productimage/56-101-459-11.JPG . She doesn't play ANY games at all and will never want to upgrade it I'm sure. Her old PC is way old and outdated. Anyway, I guess I really don't know much about these cases. Are they actually called "MicroATX"? Is that was size mobo I should be looking for? Other then the mobo, everything else is normally size correct? Anything else I should know before I dive in? Thanks!

Sweet. Thanks for your reply. So is there somewhere I can search for all SFF mobo's? Newegg only sells barebone systems in this size I believe.

They're actually called Flex ATX boards. Nobody who builds systems wants them, or at least not many people, so the selection is nearly nothing. The best Flex ATX boards come pre-packaged in SFF PC's.

Flex ATX is also the form factor used in many dictionary-sized PCs. If you want it, you're best off getting one already mounted in a case.

No, SFF is a case layout for Flex ATX boards. People call them SFF boards, but that would just make them...wrong. Flex ATX boards are used in form factors other than SFF, such as dictionary sized PC's.

I'm writing this on a http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856115003 I built for my friend. If she's not going to game and money is a factor. This is the system for you. It has intergrated dual monitor graphics, firewire, usb, etc. The only limitation is the lack of full support for 400mhz fsb. Again if she's not a gammer, cheap memory and a cheap processor are the order of the day. Total cost of my friends box was around $450 without monitors and software.
