Hey everyone, this is my first post here so i figured id make it about a issue that ive been pondering for awhile.
So im designing a new system after the unfortunate demise of my last system (RIP) and have basically nailed it all down ...
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Maxtor Diamond Max 10 SATA drive
BFG 6800 GT
etc ...
But only one issue remains ... i can only spend around 2100-2300 dollars and i recently was pondering a new display.
Im going off to college next year and therefor a LCD moniter is going to be key to actually having a desk so i decided hey, lets play around with my setup to see how i can save some money and also get a LCD. after researhcing i know the L90D+ is the one i want and the price tag on zipzoomfly is 350 with free 2nd day shipping so i kno thats my moniter. so heres the question.
Basically the processer is where i can save the most and lose the least performence but my question is this ... will a AMD Athlong 64 4000 perform much better then a AMD 64 3800 to the point where i should just get teh 4000 and then work over the summer for the LCD? or should i just get the 3800 and the LCD because the performence loss will be almost un-noticeable.
Sorry this is such a mouthfull but pleas, get back to me.
Get the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E available May 6th. It should have better memory support, cheaper ($334 at monarch), good overclockability, SSE3 support, and more than adequate for most games and programs. Use the saved money to get a high quality cooling solution and bigger lcd.
Bleh, ill just get the 3800 90nm on may 6th and the 19 inch The new 21' LCDs arent on par for gaming yet so thats why im sticking with a 19' + why go out of my way to spend more $? i think this is the new plan!
