I've read a lot about the IRQ sharing in WinXP and i'd was suprised not to find anything on THG forums, i did a search and got nothing.

I was wondering what people here thought about the IRQ stacking and such...

Or if people don't know about it, check your device and manager and view by connection type and IRQ.. You'll be pleasently surprised.

I was wondering if anyone got a way around it without reinstalling XP and using good ol HAL

who ever has the most ram when they die wins!

What exactly are you trying to achieve? If you want to assign IRQs for some devices manually, go ahead and Reserve those IRQs in BIOS. XP will automatically assign new IRQs to the devices which previously used Reserved IRQs. You should be able to assign Reserved IRQs manually now. You may also need to disable PnP OS in the BIOS though. Question is why would you wanna do any of this stuff? Gone are the days when people had IRQ nightmares and device conflicts. I would leave the task to XP. It does a fine job in this department.
