NO!!! Of course they dont! My thinking is this, how would you like it
if it came into your house and started kicking your coffee table and
writing all over it. That person's location/op's games are their
"home" and I see that as destruction of property.

No, but they do...

Your location should be responsible for keeping the machine safe... that
should be in the contract IMO

But, look at the majority of them out there that are 5 years old.. some
damage of some sort related to the location

No. Doesn't stop it from happening of course.

Rondondo, what I hear from you is "no, but I do it when I feel like
doing it anyway"

No, and no excuses.

There are avenues for rectifying lost money for the player. Even if
the location refuses to put a credit on another machine or give back
the 50 cents or whatever, that cannot be used to justify $$$ damage to
someone else's property.

Anything that goes beyond a nudge and occasional tilt is just plain
wrong.

Vandalism - No
Rough play - Sometimes yes.

If a machine has no tilt on it, expect the pin to be thrown around
quite a bit. Sometimes its fun to have an epic game on a no-tilt
machine with crazy slide-the-pin-around-the-bar saves. If the op kept
up on maintenence, this would be avoidable. Heck I remember taking a
AFM with no tilt when I was younger and stacking newspapers under the
front two legs to make the playfield angle about 1 degree just for fun.
:)

If a game steals your money, expect the game to get a firm punch to the
coin door. Again, keep your coin-mechs up to snuff, or have a
refund/maintenence phone # etc and that should be avoidable.

Some people will consider normal play on a game with normal tilt to be
abuse - it pisses me off to have someone running a location yelling at
you for nudging etc... (I dont consider a death save or a bangback
"normal" but an op should expect the possibility of these happening and
set the slam tilt slightly more sensitive).

If a player scratches a machine, they should be forced to come over to
my house 12 years later and fix it. I can't stand looking at those
damn scratches!

did you mean vandalize? abuse to me means playing very rough.

Absoloutley yes,

If a game, vending machine or especialy pay phone takes your quarter
and gives nothing in return that gives you a free pass to beat the piss
out of the machine. How else will they know it nees to be fixed? I see
no problem with it at all and if the op is there same goes for him too,
except Lloyd becasue he's one of the good guys.

I don't read it that way. I read it that if the machine holds up its end
of the bargain (i.e. WORKS), then no. But if it's broken and the machine
has more-or-less stolen your money, then....

I remember an EBD that did not have a tilt. If you were not being
watched you could pick up the machine and do a quick save or something
else.

Sadly some people have no up bringing, or care about themselves or others.
And some people think if they put money in a machine they can do anything
they want.

But you do that in my business you best not let me catch you. Because if I
do you'll wish to god your mother never pooped you out before I'm done with
you. LTG :)

You have got to be kidding Karl. Machines are mechanical devices that can
malfunction. Or even the person before you jammed something into the coin
mech and messed things right.

You were wronged, but there are recourses, like find out who owns it and
request a refund. But because you were wronged never gives you the freedom
to destroy something that isn't yours.

Attack a $4,000.00 machine over 50 ¢ ?

I am truly amazed at your thinking. Lloyd

Actualy Lloyd you are right, I was totaly kidding. Actualy I kind of
think the question put to this group (the correct answer) is so
obvious I would give an ironical answer.

If my "sense of humor" offeded anyone please accept my explaination and
appology.

My official serious answer is NO, it is not OK to beat property or
persons for any reason (especialy a few coins), of course.

Karl.

Since the customer supposedly wanted to play a game, you put 50¢ in, or a
credit on the game for them. That avoids you providing them with bus fare or
something. LTG :)

I'm amazed that this thread is this long. It's a simple question with
an obvious answer. If it doesn't belong to you then don't intentionally
break it. Hello! ...Dont you guys remember what your Mom taught you?

This is a dumb poll...I hate to be blunt, but honestly...why would you
vandalise pins on location? My vote is a hearty *NO* because even if the
pin is in poor condition, it's somebody else's property...not yours.

In the old days I must admit to turning games on their sides to get
balls unstuck after weeks of complaining to the location and to the
techs. At the time I thought" I have told them. They still take my
money. I have the right." Didn't really vandalize the game but I am
sure I didn't help it any. Now that I have a few games that behavior is
unthinkable. I have sinned and repent. Don

I'd think of the cost involved in fixing that ramp before ripping it
off. The pleasent feeling of getting your own back on a game will
quickly disappear when you use your brain and think about what it is
your doing! At the minimum you'll end up regretting your actions.

I once picked up the front of my TZ and
dropped it to the floor during a particularly
"intense" game. Stupid, and totally uncalled
for. Dropped at least a foot or so.

Also time to quit playing.....

(No, it wasn't okay to do it, either!)
