Monitor Suggestion Please

Forum Computer Peripherals : Flat Panel Monitors Monitor Suggestion Please

Hello everyone.

I'd like to buy a ~24 inch monitor to replace my 19inch ViewSonic.

One thing that I don't like about my ViewSonic is the pixel walk that I see on certain colors:

Would moving to an LED monitor resolve pixle walk?

I want an LED and want to spend under $200.

I think I want to get one of the two listed below:

The most important thing I want it for is the amateur PhotoShop work that we do.

Any suggestions before I take the plunge?

Thanks.

the best monitors for photoshop are 8-bit ips panels because of the color accuracy however they are outside of your budget. the next best thing would probably be a 6-bit e-ips panel which keeps the wide viewing angle of its bigger brothers but has color accuracy similar to va and tn.

i suppose by pixel walk you mean when you scroll up or down on that page. such pages greatly exaggerate the effect. i cannot recall ever having issues that bad during normal usage on my vp201b, nor on my sony tv which i use as monitors. just as an fyi even my samoled phone screen shows flicker when scrolling those images.

as far as during normal work such as graphic design, gaming, or web browsing i've never really had issues.

ssdxx,
Thanks! I didn't know about IPS monitor's. I took a brief look online at a few and will investigate further.

I just tried that test page you posted on two dell 24" monitors: one IPS (u2410) and one TN. The TN had pixel walk, the IPS did not.
