Huge Security Flaw found in Intel Hyper Threading

It has caused some companies to disable HTing.

This method of channeling is a problem anytime 2 threads can share a cache (including dual-core with shared-cache architectures). According to the paper, it's even employed in a normal multiprocess system where paging is involved. Although that method usually does not provide as much information as available when you share a cache.
