I have the exact same problem with my Tungsten C and the hotsync
cable. I returned the first cable and got a replacement from my
supplier, but it was the same problem with that. Guess it's just a bad
product.

But since I got fired from work 2 months after buying the T|C, I don't
need anything but the cradle and IR now.

Who built your cable? I have one from "Palmlifestyle" that fails in the
way you describe. Another cable from PalmOne works perfectly.

Palm changed the connector a little bit between m50x/m515 to
Tungsten series. My old cable had the same problem, but after buying
a new cable from a different brand (don't know which it was) it
keeps attached fine.

Interestingly I have no problem with PalmOne USB cable for m500 :-)
OTOH, the SmartAx retractable travel cable with a Tungsten connector is
very picky about it's position. When I plug it in, I have to stick it as
deep as it goes, pull back about 1/2mm, and bend the connector gently
downwards. Then it holds firmly and works.
