This may be a problem with a feature in Windows 7 called Core Parking. The issue is rare but shutting off Core Parking may stop the problem. Core Parking is basically a switch that dynamically turns on and off CPU cores as they are needed, depending on how much of a load is on the CPU from running applications.
But according to that screenshot, the traffic spike on the disk appears to be no more than 1MB/s, which is a drop in the bucket.
Try running chkdsk /f. If that doesn't find anything wrong with the file system, see if MSI has any hard drive diagnostic utilities. If not, pull your hard drive out and see who made it and check their site for diagnostic programs.
