My son always removes the battery from his laptop will that hide the history

No, but its not good for the hard drive. To delete History you have to go under tools or options and select delete history.

Improperly shutting down any PC is asking for file system corruption. Worst case scenario, your son corrupts the OS and you have to re-install or repair it.

No. What operating system are you using. There ar ways to see the history even if it has been deleted. [:bohleyk:1]

History is stored in files, which are "forever" kept on the hard-drive unless deleted. So you're safe ;)
