Can someone assist with my problem. I recently installed a Gigabyte Titan 667 P4 motherboard series GA-8ST667 in my computer. It has a pentium 2.4 cpu. Since this install I have found the computer switching itself on at different times. It also fails to load certain programs and games that were compatable prior to the install. I am running XP Professional. Thanks

this is a guess, in certain bios there are way to turn itself on at a certain time or by hitting a key on the keyboard, it MIGHT be something related to that. Other than that I have no clue.

Wake-on-lan could be a problem, see if you can disable that in the BIOS.

I had a friend with the same problem( pc starting up in the middle of the night) First, his mobo had a alarm clock that started at 00.00. After fixing this, when he bought a modem, the bios had an option for wake-on-modem. For a few days every time the phone rang, if the pc was off, it started. So better look carefuly at the power management or something menu in bios.
About the programs and games, there are 2 options: either u had another windows before (not xp) and u have compatibility problems or u didn't install properly the mobo drivers. Or the mobo is broken.

I had this problem for awhile on my shuttle ak32l (which recently burned). It turned out to be the wake on lan. I figured out pretty quickly after I noticed everytime the phone rang the computer came on... It also came on randomly at other times.
