Seems intel quietly implemented the stupid copyright protection into their shipping i945 chipsets. Trying to take away our right to privacy. They wont see a dime of mine.

Do you really blame them for making this move? One of the reasons that prices are where they are"high" is because of the lost revenue. Same thing goes for insurance. All these lawsuits cost the corps money. This gets passed through to the consumer in the form of higher premiums.

Lawsuits, you want some lawsuits, just Wait. Intel may crash and burn just because of a combination of resistance to this new technology and the law suites that are bound to occur as a result of it's implementation.
I have a Intel system but if AMD resists this new type of window to the hackers of the world then they will get my business when I buy my next CPU.

How long after it's release will that mobo be H@xxOrD? My guess is approximately 1 week.

Agree, Intel can't possibly guarantee against hacks using this new technology. At best all they can do is TRY to assure the consumer that it's safe.
The sad thing is, if it's sold by Dell,HP, and the others then the unknowing Office Depot customer will buy it and think they are getting something really special.

Hippie is a good thing. You seem to use it as derogotory. I would rather be a hippy than a dickhead!
What has a hippie done to you? Or do you just not tolerate different lifestyles, and philosophies. I suppose there are some bad ones in the bunch, but generally it is a peacefull live and let live attitude.

It is easy to see the benifits of having Big Brother watching you, but much harder to see the negatives.

What Intel is doing is pointless anyhow...What are they doing? Being more specific would be less confusing.

All the more reason to buy AMD... What Intel is doing is pointless anyhow... Pointless to secure the user base? Whether or not this technology will work has yet to be seen. But you are judging it as a failure before it has been seen on working silicon.
The better question is why the prejudice to security technologies, it will most likely be like LaGrande, on/off switch in the BIOS.

An example. My brother lives in Toronto. He has access to cheep music. I live in Vancouver, and have access to cheep software. We bothe have websites so we can upload items bought for each other. He buys my music, then I download it, and burn it. I buy him software, and he does the same.
In Canada, that is legal. In the U.S. it isn't. With Intel's copyrite protection, it wont work. My rights are being abrogated.

But Intel now says that there is no DRM crap in it.. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=23708
And when the (inevitable) DRM logic is added, the conspiracy theorists may want to refer to this before going off the deep end: http://www.intel.com/technology/security/downloads/LT_p...;/A>
In a nutshell, it clearly states that any DRM technology must be "opt-in", and that opting in (or out) must be the user's choice.

Thief status has nothing to do with it, it is control. Big companies want to gain more control to get bigger and have more control. If you submit with out even a wimper, soon, you will be back to paying per minute to use your o/s, and have to have a full time interenet connection with credit card on file to boot system. They will push you till they win or limits are set.
To me it is about a monopoly, not theivery. Look at the bank accounts of the companies pushing this tech, and look at the bank account of the software pirate, avast matey, bow before me afore I lop your ear off!

Are you proud of your theif status? I don't understand you have no respect for software companies why not run linux?WTF ?!?
Linux has nothing to do with warez, and it also deserves respect more than any other OS !
Also online piracy is not a theft, it is a gift to software companies.
Or how the hell people learn to use 2000€ professional software during 30day trial ?
Or would people even know that your crappy software excists ?
Music ? WHAT MUSIC !? They haven't released any music after 90's !
Movies ? I wouldn't go to theater without being aware of the films, and im aware becouse of torrentsites..
I would go more often, but i really, really hate to watch 15 minutes of ads before the movie.
Game piracy is another matter, it is homeuser app, but even that is NOT stealing.

You have to make exceptions for the less fortunate. When Wusy leaves for work in the morning he has to take the engine off of the lawn mower and put it back on his go-kart then pull the rope. If it rains he is soaking wet. Give him a break!
