Does anyone know where I can BUY A SERIAL CABLE FOR OLYMPUS CAMEDIA D-460 CAMERA? Maybe a compatible cable will work.

I searched on Google and easily found companies that sell replacement serial cables. However, you may consider purchasing a new inexpensive digital camera which will also provide much better photo quality.

Thank you, I also found some but they didn't have any in stock or didn't carry the one I need.

Thank you this one was given to my Grand Son and I thought that he could play around with it. He is seven years and loves taking pictures. I have a nice digital Camera and so does his mother. This was just an extra thing but it seems to be out dated and no one carries the parts. Guess it is a good candidate for the trash.

Best idea is to get a xd to usb card reader and just take the card out of the camera... much faster d/l of pics. But if you still wanna giver-a-go the cable is a trs (tip-ring-sleeve) 2.5mm to female db9 serial cable. So there's three conductors. Transmit, recieve and ground. If you wanna wire one up by splicing some cables ya got see here.

Or buy one from:

http://www.pccables.com/87008.html

Basically the wiring you need is 2,5,3 mapped to Tip-Ring-Sleeve.

There are other variations of this cable. It was used for many old school calculators and cameras among other specialty io.

Most are of the 2T-5R-3S design. I doubt anything will fry if you x-ed them... just wont work.
