just wondering if someone can help me with this.

I have MN-720 PCMCIA adapter and according to the specs,
max speed is 54 mbps.

Would there be a firmware so it can boost the speed to 108
mbps?

no. these speed boosts are not part of the official 802.11g standard.
each chipset vendor has their own version and they are not
interoperable.
