Hi Everyone:
Question about my CPU temps .......
Just finished building a new system with a Prescott P4 2.8 Ghz CPU LGA 775 Socket. No overclocking on an Intel Board.

Using Intel's Hardware Monitoring software I'm seeing idle temperatures of 53-55 Celcius. On load about 67-70 Celcius. I'm using a Speeze Fan/Heatsink with thermal grease (just a little).

Are these temps notmal for the Prescott P4 2.8 Ghz ? Any literature that you can direct me to ?

For a Northwood I'd say that those temps are darn high. For a Scotty though... they may just be perfectly normal.

Really though they do seem fairly high to me. Speeze? Are you sure that's wise? Does it even claim to be enough for your proc? I can't say that I've ever heard anyone recommend Speeze...

Is your CPU an OEM or do you have the Intel Heatsink and fan? If you have the Intel heatsink and fan use it.
