It may be Chinese but it should still be running Gingerbread or earlier so we ought to be able to help. Derek - were you connected through your own wireless network at home and, if so, why can you not now? Setting up a data account will depend on the SIM installed.

I agree with the old boy above ;)  we should be able to help as it's just a generic tablet running ??? version of Android.

Some more info about your tablet would be handy.

Done a little googling on the Lava 7" tablet and I think you have the one running Android 2.2. They're really cheap and available in the UK. The new ones I found are running ICS but are not in the UK yet.

Question are....

Your version of Android? To find it go to - (Settings > About > Android Version)

Had you previously been connected to your home network before your factory reset? i.e. not a hardware fault.

This maybe simple but have you turned the WiFi on? If you have try clearing any remembered networks (Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings > Manage networks > Manage network options)

I've had a couple of phones with WiFi issues which I fixed with "FXR WiFi fix and Rescue" off Google Play you might want to try that as well. You'll have to download it on another android device and copy it over to your tablet then install if it has no connection (it does have a card slot doesn't it?)

Good luck

The poster who fixes his own problem is not a fool. The people who find sites like Tom's then come to ask questions are not fools.

All the others are fools except (sometimes) those of us who answer the questions.
