ok show me a game with such graphics? maybe AOE III? or that Star Wars RTS? but since this is a space sim there is gone be lots of ships flying around and all... although a rpg could be better but this is impressive
Games? Games are made to work with old hardware. Technology demos, such as the 3D-Mark benchmarks, offer challenges to today's hardware.
All the solid surfaces of the space station were covered with 2D tiles that were ment to represent 3D surfaces, that always gets my attention. Doing that is like drawing a face on a balloon and pretending the nose and ears really stick out.

O.o ok but mix in the massive processing (GPU, CPU, RAM too not jsut CPU) power that space combact uses and that graphics then it is impressive, (try to play X2 during combat or freelancer in a massive combat (it being crappier because it was delayed and delayed with microsoft with an old graphic engine...)
It's a gaming machine. Rip out anything you don't need for gaming (including parts of the processor), and you could make a standard PC very lean too.
The good thing was that it seemed to do well with the framework surrounding the body of the space station.

lol you should try it, abit hard at the beginning that turn new people away, but help is there if ya look closer on the internet, i like argonpedia, at the beginning its more of the game of patience as that your ship can't kill anything unless you are an ace with politing, but as time goes on the powerful automatic systems that is in the game helps you accmulate $$ while you do more fun things like pirate hunting or station killing, owning a whole sector by killing all other station and placing all your own etc etc
lol coylter what are you complining about?? i got a OCed PIII 733MHZ with crappy 133 ram (aka non branded) and a readeon 9200 running at 2X AGP..... might just be your windows is running bad or something cuz its barely playable for me unless there is alot of ships hunting me or i;m hunting alot of ships....
