Weird problem..

It seems that internet explorer isn't saving any of the settings I..uhh set. I recently reinstalled XP and the options that tend to pop up.. (such as auto-complete and some of those little security warnings that I uncheck to never see them again)..thing is, after i restart I have to go through them all again.

This has been bugging me for a few days now, anyone have any idea what would cause this?
