Hey Pickxx what happened to you?

I disappeared for a few days... thought that you would have jumped ahead of me again.

What version and mode of F@H? And what games?

If you open up the configure Control panel for F@H go to the connection tab.

Check the Box that says
'allow receipt of work assignments and return of results greater then 5MB in size. (note that such WUs may have Large memory demands.)'

Mostly, it's a good thing to do with unused cpu cycles.
It's a program that projects how certain protien molecules "fold" or reproduce. The people at Stanford are hoping to get some insight as to what happens to create certain illnesses, and ultimately develop cures.
We're just trying to save humanity is all.
It's also a bit of a competition. THGC is a good team, though small. You can join us by downloading the program, running it, and entering 40051 as your team.

There are several people that are running PIIIs and I know of at least one ancient MAC that is folding - SPEED DEMONS - WOOHOO!

I'm folding on my 1ghz T-bird and 800Mhz Duron... P3 can't be too much worse than that... And I used to fold on the old work PC (466 Celery)

Sounds great to me. It's a whole lot better than 0/250 in the same time.
BTW, that's 8.5 points per hour for the good guys, and that particular WU might just be the one that saves a million lives. Every WU counts.

With partial completions , you do get some points. Maybe not at <10%. A couple of weeks ago, I lost 2 250 pointers. One at 78% the other @ 60%. I got 480 points for them.
It does seem that some of the 250 pointers are not quite ready for prime time.

well thats good to hear...didn't work out for me tho... like you say it might be that it was >10%

on another note.

I started a p747 its not in the projects list and its not in the curtrently folding list.

so it must be a beta... i wonder what Im helping out with here

it has 1000 frames, any idea what its value is?

can't be much tho... says i'll be done in 12 hrs.

when you lost those folds, were you pausing it? I've only* lost folds where i had it paused, then restarted the computer.

F@H:
AMD: [64 3000+][2500+][2400+][2000+][1.3][366]
Intel: [X 3.0x3][P4 3.0x2][P4 2.4x5 down][P4 1.4]

i didn't pause it...

it was going nuts.
I opened it to see how it was going, i wanted to close it so i could play a game, and if it were about to finish a frame i would wait a sec.

But the thing said that it was goign to take another 800 days before it was done... so i restarted my machine...

then it tryed to connect to get the next WU.

I hate the 700 series WUs. Most of them are worth around 50 points. Some of them take a day and a half on my A64 systems. Still, I think they are altzhiemer related, and have had some success.

they have had some success with the use of F@H? well thats great! It doesn't help our team so much... but i think i would rather help where help is more effective. So i guess im ok with that.
