<A HREF="http://www.westgatemedia.com/products/nero5.html" target="_new">Nero</A> and <A HREF="http://www.fireburner.com/" target="_new">Fireburner</A> are good. EZ CD creator can burn it as well. If you dont want to use those programs then you can convert the file to an ISO which will be recognized by most CD burning tools. There are many utilities that will do that. <A HREF="http://www.winiso.com/" target="_new">WinISO</A> is one.

When I tried seeing if Nero supports IMG files, that wasn't one of them. I'm not even sure about WinISO...but when I get my hands on it, I'll check it out (if you aren't able to).

nope WinISO doesnt support it to convert, Nero doesnt work, Roxio doesnt work, lol, hmmm, what to try what to try? oh yeah fireburner doesnt work either. i would be able to burn the image if i had a cue sheet for the image file, but i have no idea how to make one or if i can, because maybe it has to be made when the image is made. thanks!

Wait a sec...how big is that file? Maybe it's the boot sector file for a CD, like maybe Windows 2000 or XP. Those are normally quite small.

TheGame: do you have a cue file? The .ig file should be with a .cue file as part of a cue/img format. The Cue file tells the burning app what the img file is so it can burn.

http://www.weethet.nl/english/cdrw_usingnero_bincue.asp

<A HREF="http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/" target="_new">ISObuster</A>

If you don't have a .cue file then you will probably have to go with a method like this:

"The IsoBuster-Method (Extract your image to hd to burn it afterwards)
Open your image with IsoBuster and right-click the "joilet branch" (the one with blue arrows..) and select "extract directory". Choose a empty temp directory on your harddrive to extract the data to. When this is done, start Nero. Simply choose "Burn data disc" on that freaky wizard. Grab all data from your temp directory to your new disc and change its name to the one displayed by IsoBuster. You can burn your disc like every other now.
You can use this method on nearly every image, but you might loose some extra information. Some people say "WinISO" can handle even more images than IsoBuster, so if IsoBuster can not open your image, try this one instead." -NorthernLights

I think there is a way to extract the information to make a cue sheet but I have to check from my computer at home. You need to somehow get the directory information from the original CD.

all this is pretty simple if you can just get the .cue file that should have been with this .img. Try to get it from the person who ripped the orginal CD and made that .img.

hmm, ok, i got the latest version of ISOBuster, whichsays is supports .img files and it comes up with the error.

"Primary Volume Descriptor (PVD) is Unreadable.
Read Error at Address : 16
Device reported Error : 5/64/01"

PLLEAASE do not tell me that this file is junk, lol, if you know of a way to make the .cue file, that would be great.

and i cant get ahold of the person who gave me this file, because i have no idea who it was. ok guys thanks for your help!!

It doesn't look good. It also seems that you are dealing with a CD image that may not have properly been packaged. I get the feeling this is some sort of warez CD image so you may be SOL. One other thing you can try but it's real flaky and may waste a CD. You can force Nero to burn the disc as RAW Data. This may or may not work. All depends on the original .img file. If Nero gives you an error with the TAO (track at once [default]) then switch to DAO (disc at once).

You can also try <A HREF="http://www.goldenhawk.com/" target="_new">CDRWin</A>. Don't go nuts and make a dozen coasters. You may have an irretrievable image.

Before you burn anything, I would try to load the image with <A HREF="http://www.daemon-tools.com/" target="_new">daemon-tools</A>.
