Are you holding down the Function Key when trying to increase the brightness? Most laptops I have seen share the brightness control with a numerical key up the top of the keyboard. Down the bottom of the Keyboard there should be a Key that says FN or similar. Hold down that key and that enables the laptop to respond to functions commands as opposed to numerical input.

yup..even i am facing the same problem. My keyboard is not working properly, including the function (FN) key and the arrow. Do you have an alternate solution to increase the brightness.

What you need to do, is when you use the Function (Blue Fn) key, you need to hit the right arrow. Ironically the solid sun is dim, not brighten.
