New error messages

Hi all,
Anybody else curious about what is coming down with the latest error
messages concerning "nics". I've noticed after being logged in, to spades in
particular, that after a period of inactivity - couple of hours for eg -
instead of the old "you are not logged in", twice I've received a message
saying the name associated with this passport is not compatible with the zone
naming policies. Those aren't the exact words but that is the gist of the
message. This is a nic I've played with forever so it's not a conflict for
sure.
The other new one is in trying to log out of the zone. There is no clean
logout just now. In my case it takes me to that nice blue page that says
"what were you trying to do"? Well I know what I was trying to do and it's
been pretty straightforward for a number of years now so it's not anything
I'm doing.
On the flip side the zf issues seems to be stable just now.
Any of you zone tekkies have any information on this latest bit?
