Hi All,

I am looking to purchase a monitor for my new PC i am building. I am having a hard time finding a monitor that has a glossy display screen. Are there any particular recommendations?

I was hoping to get 24" or more, and 1920x1200 res, but 1080 would work too.

My budget can go upto $350 or a little more if the monitor is great.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Thank you!

You won't find a 1920x1200 screen with a glossy finish.

For whatever reason, virtually all glossy screens are TN panels; and virtually all 1920x1200 screens are IPS. TN and IPS are two different types of technology.

The exceptions are that Apples makes glossy finish IPS monitors for their cinema display line. However I think these are all 27" or 30" monitors and cost $1000+

The only other exception that might exist is BenQ's 27" PVA display. I think it might be 1920x1200 with a glossy finish. But I've read posts from a few people who bought one and didn't like it (supposedly there was a red trailing motion blur)

Thank you for the information, it helped me change my requirements a bit and purchased a HP 2511x. It has a birghtview glossy screen and 1080 resolution. Fell a bit short on resolution but overall I think for $230 it was a good buy.

Sounds good. I like matte myself, but I know that can drive you nuts if you don't like it.

hello again... remember that an actual screenshot comparing the two would be useless...
