Yesterday I asked for quotes on a dual-core system from several retailers in the Toronto area, here in the great white land up north. One of them came back to me saying the following:

Other than the ASUS mb which is back ordered till the end of this week, and AMD will have a price drop on the coming Monday, so we do not stock any X2 cpu for this week. The current price is based on current cost, so it will move accordingly once we know the exact drop on all AMD cpus by Monday.

Anyone heard anything about this price drop? Just wondering if I can expect other retailers to do the same thing, and start the comparrison process all over again next week.

That quote came from Infonec (www.infonec.com). Best price on the system I want so far has come from Grey-Tech Computers (www.greytech.com). The site sucks, but their prices are pretty good. Only problem is that they don't have the A8N premium (said it isn't vilable in Canada :0), but they'll be getting them by mid August :(
