Truck rental with a lift?

Does anyone know where I can rent one of these for a couple of hours in
the SE Wisconsin area? I looked at Ryder and Uhaul but both of them say
they are ramps. I have an Indy 500 dual racer I need to move about 50
miles and I trailered it the first time (Open trailer) but it was a big
PITA.(The wheels of the game would get wedged into the ramps of the
trailer.) If anyone know of a truck with a lift or has one and wants to
make a few bucks, please let me know. I think a closed trailer may work
too, as long as the ramps are smooth (mine were rigid, more for
cars)and I would like minimal lifting involved,only pushing/pulling.
This thing moves in two pieces, but it is still heavy. Thanks for any
help (as always). I need to move this game from Sullivan, WI to
Milwaukee, WI.... Tim

I just went through something similar here in Pennsylvania. No
national rental company will rent you a truck with a hydraulic lift. I
heard excuses like "too dangerous" and "too much maintenance" as
excuses for why ramps are the only thing offered. I ended up renting a
u-haul 6x12 open trailer and putting down a piece of plywood to more
easily move the item in and out (those ridges on the bottom of the
trailer ARE a PITA).

Ryder trucks here in Richmond, VA rented me one that i took all the way to
York two years ago. 15 ft., hydraulic lift. The catch is, only diesel, and
with diesel, up north, diesel is really scattered around. Try again and
tell them you can drive a diesel truck. It's automatic. The only thing that
might have changed is liability insurance. Maybe they cut them for
consumers based on high insurance requirements?

Try Budget Truck Rental, I have used them for a while and they do have
trucks with liftgates. I think they charge something like $20 a day extra,
but it would be worth it in your case!!

I will look into Budget, I looked at Ryder and they didnt have any with
a gate. Luckily the Milwaukee auction is coming this week, so I may
have an opportunity for a fellow RGPer coming through to swing by, make
a few bucks and help me out with the lift truck. I usually use my truck
and trailer for everything, but this Indy 500 is ridiculous (even in
two pieces)... Thanks for all the input.... Maybe I will see some of
you at this weeks auction in Milwaukee. ( I will be wearing the Ralph
Wiggum hat)....Thanks again....
