Windows 7 and internet problems

Recently switched from TW Road Runner to Verizon DSl. Nothing but problems, rarely can connect to internet and when we can we usually get kicked off anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hours later. Verizon has confirmed all is fine on their end and the modem is lit green in all areas. We have tried unistalling/reinstalling the network adapter ...sometime that works sometimes not, have reconfig or renewed IP as well. Problem continues. We are using an Asus pc, Windows 7, Avast anti virus, Verizon DSL modem. Please advise.

Boot into Safe Mode w/Networking and do what you normally would online. See if that makes it trip itself up or not. Granted the screen is gonna look bad because you are in Safe Mode, but its the next best step to try to figure out what is causing you to drop connection.

Nope and we are considering switching back its very frustrating
