CDN New System Build! Input and Suggestions

Hi,
I'm going to be assembling a system.
Here are my parts accompanied with Canadian prices.
I will be purchasing these parts from local stores, I have attached links as well.
I plan on using this system on gaming, and I will also be running various applications such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc…. for school and running a website. I would like to know how well this setup will fair on gaming? Will it have good performance on the latest and greatest games like Battlefield 2 on 1024 x 768 resolution?

The graphics is what I would call the weakest link. If you have to go a little cheeper elseware, the lowest you should go ,to stay on the same level, would be an x800xl.

If you're looking at Canada Computers and Tiger Direct, I'm assuming that you're are going to be shopping in the GTA. While I haven't compared the prices of your system to these guys, I'd suggest that you look at <A HREF="http://www.infonec.com" target="_new">Infonec</A> and <A HREF="http://www.greytech.com" target="_new">Grey-Tech</A>. Grey Tech in particular gave me a really great price on several components, including and X2 4200, when I purchased my whole system from them (You can see the quote <A HREF="http://emorgoch.no-ip.com/downloads/CompQuote.pdf" target="_new">here</A>).

As for the system itself, looks pretty good. If you're not planning on doing any overclocking, then the Asus board will be great for you. Otherwise, people here will suggest a DFI Lanparty board for you. They are harder to set up though, so it all depends on how comfortable you are with playing around with BIOS settings.

Graphics card may be a little underpowered depending on how much you want to game on the thing. If you're trying to keep prices the same, I'd suggest that you drop from the 4400 down to the 4200, and use that money to bump up the GPU. The extra cache isn't going to give you that much of a performance boost, but if you can get up to a 7800GT, you'll see a major difference.

Last but not least, I'd take a look at the RAM. It's not the most agressive RAM out there, and with the high-end systme that you're getting, spending a slight bit more will take you up to a higher level. Look at some of the performance RAM from either OCZ, Corsair, or Crucial. Any of those will get you what you want.

u Can now pick up a X800XL @ bestbuy or futureshop for 329 or 339 CDN. I would reccomend that over a vanilla 6800.
