When are the chrome skull's eyes (555's with red bulb condoms) supposed to
light up?

The eyes come on as soon as the start button is pushed and stay on most
of the game.They only go out when you load the canon for a jackpot
shot.I am assuming yours are out all the time.If the bulbs are good as
well as wiring to the sockets,there is also a small connector below the
playfield.Just follow the wires down from the skull and you will see
it.Have had it vibrate loose causing the eyes not to work.

FOUR factors cause the biggest problems with these feature lights:
1) vibration from the VUK
2) Bad diodes
3) surface corrosion on the sockets.
4) burned out bulbs

Usually its #1 or #2 with routed games as these lights are forgotten.
