Ultimate to Home Premium

so i got windows 7 ultimate discounted from my college for X amount of dollars. Not realizing they gave me an upgrade version (i need windows 7 home premium) i installed it. But now I have to purchase windows 7. Do I have to completely erase the OS files I already have installed on my SSD? If so whats an easy way of doing so?
