I've been weighing up buying an XP-M after talking to the some of the members here. But I was wondering what the difference is between the 3200+ and a decent XP-M. Most of you seem to have the XP-M clocked to the same as a 3200?

They are more or less the same in price on eBay, so should I stick with the XP-M bids or try for both?

Thanks in advance

Splendid
When I bought my xp-m2500+, it was ~ $100, while the 3200+ was ~$250. Why do you think they would be about the same price now on e-gay?
If you are less than comfortable with OCing, get the 3200+.
If you want a chip that can also run @ 1.45v, with the fan turning slow (with the chip clocked lower of course) get the xp-m.

I'd take the XP-M over a desktop anyday.

But, you'd better have a mobo that allows for CPU multi adjustments. Most likely the mobile cpu won't be properely recognized by your mobo (cuz it was intended for lappies) and will first boot @ 6 multi X 100mhz (or a 600mhz cpu).

No biggie, but you'll most likely have to manually set it up in BIOS. Again, just make sure your mobo offers cpu multi adjustments or you'll be stuck with a low-speed cpu.

Mobile XP 2600+ (11X215)
Abit NF7-S v 2.0
Maxtor 60GB ATA 133 7200RPM
1 gig Corsair XMS PC3200
eVGA 6800GT
Enermax Noisetaker 420 watts
Win2K sp4

What kind of Heat sinks should I be looking at, if you could recommend a couple please. I don't want water cooled, just the regular oC's HSF.

Thanks

I'm using a Thermalright SLK-947U and a Vantec Aeroflow. I prefer Thermalright over Thermaltake anyday.

Both of those prolly have newer versions though.
